For solar self consumption and backup usage Tesla’s warranty provides coverage for 70% capacity after 10 years with an unlimited number of cycles.
Additionally, this warranty encompasses the Tesla Gateway, a vital component that facilitates energy management, metering, and monitoring functions for the Powerwall. It manages grid connections, ensures safe disconnection of your home, and initiates backup operations during power outages.
It’s important to note that if you choose not to connect your Powerwall to the app (which significantly limits your ability to monitor electricity usage and optimize energy efficiency), the warranty will only cover a 4-year period.
