Why Wollongong homes are switching to solar
Wollongong sits in one of the more consistently sunny parts of the NSW coast, and with electricity prices continuing to climb, a well-sized solar and battery system pays for itself faster than most people expect.
Strong solar yield
At roughly 4.5–5.0 peak sun hours a day, Wollongong roofs generate reliably across the year, with a seasonal boost through summer that lines up well with air-conditioning use.
Rising power prices
With NSW electricity tariffs sitting around 30c/kWh and climbing, a correctly sized system typically cuts a Wollongong household bill by 50–80%.
Fast payback
Most Wollongong homeowners recover their solar investment in 3–5 years, then enjoy substantially reduced power bills for the 20+ year life of the panels.
Solar & battery services across Wollongong
One local team designs, supplies and installs everything, with no handing your job off to a subcontractor you've never met.
Solar batteries
Tesla Powerwall, Sigenergy and more, store your daytime solar for use at night and through a Wollongong storm outage.
Inverters
Fronius Solutions Partner installs: the component that decides how well your whole system performs over 10+ years.
Solar & battery rebates available to Wollongong households
Between the federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme and the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, most eligible Wollongong homes can cut a meaningful chunk off the up-front cost of solar and storage.

01
Free on-site assessment
We visit your Wollongong property, check your roof orientation and shading, and review your power bills to size a system properly, not just guess.
02
Fixed-price proposal
You get a clear, itemised quote covering panels, inverter, any battery, and the rebate applied, with no surprises on install day.
03
Install & connect
Our own crew installs, tests and commissions the system, usually within a day, and manages the grid connection paperwork with Endeavour Energy.
Wollongong suburbs we service
Our head office sits at Barrack Heights, minutes south of the Wollongong CBD, so most of the Wollongong LGA is a short drive for our install crews.
Why Wollongong chooses SunPeople
We're not a national call-centre brand - SunPeople is based five minutes from Wollongong, and every install is carried out by our own trained crew, not a rotating cast of subcontractors.
