This A-class commercial building is privately owned and currently tenanted to the NSW SES. The building has some unique features such as two large, glass-topped atriums and a flat concrete roof. SunPeople were engaged to design and install a PV system to offset base-building electrical loads.

Challenges
The concrete roof has central drainage points with a significant height difference across the structure. This required a custom-engineered mounting solution to ensure the panels could be installed level and maintain the wind load rating required. The CBD location posed challenges for crane access to the site.
Outcomes
SunPeople has relationships with specialist engineers in the Illawarra region. Together we devised a simple and costeffective solution. Our admin team worked closely with Wollongong council to obtain a permit for out-of-hours crane entry to a public car park. The operation was completed effectively within the timeframe allocated.
