Project overview
Dapto Citizens Bowling Club has been a local institution for over 60 years. Like many local businesses, the club had seen its power bills rise year after year, and engaged SunPeople to design a solar solution to offset as much of its daytime power usage as possible.
challenge
The club has very high daytime power usage, driven mainly by its HVAC system. The panel layout had to make use of all available roof space while carefully accounting for shading from light poles and air-conditioning units on the roof.
outcome
SunPeople selected a 99kW system to maximise the offset of daytime power usage while still qualifying for the STC discount available on systems up to 99kW. High-powered panels paired with a SolarEdge inverter system were chosen specifically to mitigate the effects of rooftop shading.
