Project overview
This commercial project was the third PV system SunPeople installed for this client. The multi-tenanted building sits on the outskirts of Wollongong's CBD and is home to a local government department. The brief called for minimal noise and disruption to tenants, within an expedited installation timeframe.
challenge
The building's tall, slim roof had limited usable space, with plantrooms and pipework covering more than half the area, and a parapet to the north casting shade over the remaining concrete roof, posing a serious design challenge.
outcome
SunPeople's design team installed panels on the north-facing concrete awning to maximise sun exposure, and used a SolarEdge inverter system with DC optimisers to also install south-facing panels with confidence, since each panel could produce power independently.
